David McDonald (Guitar, Ukulele, Bass Guitar)
David McDonald is a professional musician and guitar tutor nearing a decade and a half of professional live performance and guitar mentoring.
David is a graduate of BIMM Dublin, one of Ireland’s most prestigious and renowned music colleges that specialise in professionalism and excellence in all areas of music education.
He has recorded albums and played live in numerous projects over the years with his own bands as well as many others.
At present David writes and records with his own progressive rock band ‘DurtBurd’, with their individual releases receiving growing acclaim both nationally and across Europe both on radio and all major music and video platforms whilst also playing live regularly across the country.
David is also the Guitarist for distinguished artist and songwriter ‘Eimear’.
So far they have recorded and released two albums to great acclaim.
Just the past year they have played alongside and toured with the likes of industry veterans ‘Mary Coughlin’ and ‘Jack L’ playing at theatres and festivals nationwide culminating in a show with Jack L in Dublin’s 3Arena last November to an audience of thousands.
‘Eimears’ single release in March this year ’I am Woman’, went straight to the Irish iTunes no.1 spot and features guitar and arrangements by David.
David also explores ‘natural improvisation and sonic tonal exploration’ with another esteemed artist ‘Claire Crehan’ again releasing an album and working on two original collaborative suites of music the past 2 years entitled ‘Through eyes of Love’ and ’Suantrai a Chroi’.
With this project they have put on concerts funded by various arts councils including the ’Cavan Arts’ council for a series of shows performing the suites of work to sold out audiences.
As well as original projects, David also plays for Dublin based band ‘PlayBack’ who specialise in playing and performing classic albums from start to finish.
This year and last see’s them performing sold out shows in some of Dublin’s most renowned concert venues such as ’The Opium’ and ‘The Sugar Club’ performing ‘Aladdin Sane’ the iconic 1973 album from ‘David Bowie’.
David’s years of performative experience make for a unique and positive guitar learning environment which can benefit everyone from those who want to play and learn at home, to those wanting to take it to the next level and perform live on stage.
